Wise Film Productions

Courtney Wise is an award winning freelance showrunner, writer, and producer based in Sydney, Australia.

She created, produced and script produced the critically acclaimed and multi-award nominated four part SBS drama mini-series On The Ropes for Lingo Pictures. On The Ropes was selected to screen at Series Mania, 2019.

Prior to this Courtney was Development Producer at Lingo Pictures, including on the two-part telemovie Wake In Fright, an adaptation of Kenneth Cook’s novel, broadcast on Network Ten.

At Wise Film Productions Courtney produced Series 1 and 2 of the award winning online narrative comedy series Fragments of Friday, funded by Screen Australia. 

While working in-house at the Television Fiction Department at the ABC, Courtney was Development Manager on The Secret River, a two-part telemovie adaptation of Kate Grenville's award winning novel and on The Beautiful Lie, a six part contemporary Australian adaptation of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina. Both projects were broadcast on the ABC.  

Courtney also wrote episodes on the award winning teen series Dance Academy, series 2 and 3, broadcast on ABC, and was the recipient of Screen Australia’s Gender Matters funding for her science fiction series The Dreamscape. Courtney is currently developing her new and exciting slate of projects.
