Courtney Wise is an award winning freelance showrunner, writer, and producer based in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia.

Courtney is currently the Co-Executive Producer on the Netflix television series adaptation of Miles Franklin’s novel My Brilliant Career for Jungle Entertainment, which is in post production.

She created, produced and script produced the critically acclaimed and multi-award nominated four part SBS drama mini-series On The Ropes for Lingo Pictures. On The Ropes was selected to screen at Series Mania, 2019.

Prior to this Courtney was Development Producer at Lingo Pictures, including on the two-part telemovie Wake In Fright, an adaptation of Kenneth Cook’s novel, broadcast on Network Ten.

At Wise Film Productions Courtney produced Series 1 and 2 of the award winning online narrative comedy series Fragments of Friday, funded by Screen Australia. 

While working in-house at the Television Fiction Department at the ABC, Courtney was Development Manager on The Secret River, a two-part telemovie adaptation of Kate Grenville's award winning novel and on The Beautiful Lie, a six part contemporary Australian adaptation of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina. Both projects were broadcast on the ABC.  

Courtney also wrote episodes on the award winning teen series Dance Academy, broadcast on ABC. Courtney is currently developing her new slate of exciting projects.
